CNC Milling a Penny This is a model of a penny I created using a Image2Surface script I wrote for Autodesk Fusion 360. With the script I was able to import a heightmap image of a penny and generate a mesh. I wanted to mill the model so I then converted the mesh to a t-spline surface. 2015 Boggs Funduro More pictures here: 2015 Boggs Funduro I raced all three days and enjoyed and suffered the whole time. The new 8 hr course was a blast but definitely a butt kicker compared to the previous year’s. The hill climb hurt and then came back to remind me through the ache in my legs and lungs. The Super-D was a screaming great time. The social side of the whole weekend also eases the pain of the racing. Bacon hand-ups, BBQs, random camp fires, lots of great people, it all rocks. ...
I’ve created a small Fusion 360 add-in for generating Voronoi patterns. When run, the patterns are generated as either straight edged polygons or closed splines within a sketch. These can then be used for creating or modifying bodies. 2014 Yin Yang Espresso Cups - IMG_3228 These are cups that I designed and based on the Yin and Yang symbols. A pair of these will cleanly mate together and form a circle. I modeled these in Autodesk Fusion 360. I used the manufacturing (CAM) support to generate the CAM for machining them out of 6061 aluminum using a Haas VF 2SS mill. It’s the new year and cyclocross is still going strong in NorCal. Drove down to Monterey still heavy from holiday cookies and celebrations for the 8th race of the CCCX Cyclocross Series. Brought the single-speed so I would suffer the most but keep it simple. The wet weather has made the Fort Ord course nice and tacky. Lots of fun ripping the berms and leaning the corners where normally that would send you in the sea of poison oak. ...
