A time-lapse view from the Berkeley High pit during race #2 of the 2012 NorCal High School MTB League series.
The view is of the “Pit Zone” with the start/finish off in the distance. You can spot the uphill start in the upper left. Started recording around 8am and stopped around 5pm.
Lots of wind, rain, some hail, and spots of sun during the day. One gust knocked the camera over (sideways shot).
Captured using my GoPro Hero2 in interval mode. One photo every 30 seconds.
Experimenting with my GoPro Hero2 and creating time lapses. Here I stuck it on the windshield and started it recording a photo every 2 seconds. Then drove from San Rafael to Berkeley.
A short video of the Berkeley High Mountain Bike Team and the first race of the 2011 season. Captures the action around the team tent and at the start/finish line.
Video details:
Used the GoPro HD in 30sec interval mode for the time-lapse sections. And hand held 720p/60 for the racing. Sorry I didn’t capture more race footage. Too busy back at the tent.
Testing the GoPro HD for time-lapses. As you can see from the footage, it gets very noisy at the dark end. It might be possible to better manage the image enhancement for the noisy sections.
Still, it’s a nice easy way to capture a time-lapse. And especially with the weather proof case.
