Big Bear, CA :: Downhill race

A large part of my life revolves around cycling. I have been racing mountain bikes since 1989. Cross Country (XC) and Downhill (DH) racing my favorites. After the purchase of a road bike in 1999 for commuting, I began dabbling in road racing. Now I also throw in Criteriums (Crits) for the thrill they offer.

To add to this list, I have now tried Cyclocross racing. The season for cyclocross is normally fall and winter. Now I can race all year! Ugh.

Sycip has signed me to their team roster in 2002. I am very pleased to be a member of this team. The company and the people behind it are top notch. I recommend you drop over to their site and browse the beautiful custom bikes.

Race Reports

Here is a page listing my race results from 2002.

I've been too lazy to keep it updated. Instead, I write up my race reports and post them (see above).

Some training information.

Northern California offers a lot of options for cycling. Sadly, finding good trails for mountain biking in the bay area has become a problem. In Marin there are almost no legal single-track trails. Rumor has it that IMBA has given up on trying to get access in Marin. Loss of existing legal trail systems is also increasing. There are groups here that are doing great work to help promote mountain biking and fighting for trail access. In addition to the battle for trail access, there is the battle for cyclist's rights on the road and as viable transportation.

Here is a partial list of local cycling advocacy groups. Click on the links below, sign-up, and get involved!
