Game Time Clown Swing

Went riding down in Monterey on the former Fort Ord military base. This swing and another like it have always amused me. There's not much of a playground here anymore. They just stand around waiting for better times. But, they still keep smiling.

Love your website, Hans. Great photos and cool comments and jokes. How about that bird sitting on the electric tower!

The scarecrow clown head is actually a can topper for a 55 gallon drum used as a garbage receptacle. Trash is placed through the mouths on either side.

Russ - The company has a fancy website www.gametime.com but finding info on their older equipment is difficult. I've searched long and hard for info about the swing I photographed and haven't found anything.

Good luck on your search.

Wow! We found some old game time clowns at Fort Bragg in an old park! They are on my blog if you'd like to see. Interesting information about the clown heads! ~C http://hatchling.blogspot.com

I have a game time clown wearing black derby hat. I was told it was used in San Francisco at Playland. Can't remember the name of magazine but Laverne (of Laverne & Shirley) was pictured sitting on a park bench with her feet on top of derby. Clown appeared to be exactly like mine. I would be interested to know if this clown actually was used at Playland in San Francisco.

A friend of ours bought a Game Time clown head at a garage sale for $4.00. We can't find anything about it - nothing on Game Time's website - not even an address to contact them! My husband was asked to paint like the original as it had absolutely no paint when purchased. Any ideas?

GameTime's website is fancy pants but it sure is a pain. I was able to find a page listing all of their reps:

http://www.gametime.com/reps/gtreplist.asp

It was accessible through their upper left menu by clicking "Contact Us", "Find Your Rep", "Complete Listing". Maybe a local rep might be able to provide more information on their older equipment.
