I recently upgraded to a Nikon D200 digital camera. My trusty Canon G3 was still functional but it just never gave me the feel and functionality I wanted. I missed shooting “through the lens” and through real lenses. I still have my Nikon FE which I got way back in high school. That camera biased me. I wanted that feel and that quality.

So I looked and researched and compared. I trust both Canon and Nikon for the cameras. Each has its benefits. It was a tough decision. But already owning a selection of Nikon lenses and the D200s support for these lenses swayed me. And now I have a new camera.

The shots here don’t do the camera justice. So please don’t use them to judge the camera. They are just my early attempts to learn and play.

I’m glad you like like the photos.
I used an older Nikon 55mm (2.8) with an extension for the macro shots. And my new AF-S 18-200mm for the other shots. All the shots used available light.
Capturing macro shots outside without a tripod and a little bit of wind was tricky. Luckily there was enough light and I was able to dial up the shutter speed.
