How can anyone not enjoy a great sunset?

When I lived in Arizona I would see amazing sunsets all of the time. “Particulates in the air” was one explanation I heard for this. Maybe that’s why a smoggy place like Los Angelas gets great sunsets.

Whatever the reason, I was lucky enough to see some great sunsets during Thanksgiving week in Joshua Tree National Park.

We had some beautiful sunsets in western North Carolina lately–unusual for the mountains. It was a spectacular sight to see the reds, purples and golds glowing through the winter bare trees. It was a poignant beauty because the sunsets were the result of forest fires not far away in eastern Tennesee (finally out, thanks to a good rain and lots of hard work by fire crews.)
